About Navi Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd
In 2016, a global bid to develop an airport at Navi Mumbai was issued by the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra Limited (CIDCO). The contract to develop this airport was awarded to Mumbai International Airport Private Limited (MIAL) on 25th October 2017.
Subsequently, MIAL and CIDCO established Navi Mumbai International Airport Pvt. Ltd. (NMIAL) – a Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) to oversee the development, construction, operation and maintenance of the greenfield international airport project in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.
The project is being executed under a Public Private Partnership (PPP) framework on a Design, Build, Finance, Operate and Transfer (DBFOT) basis. MIAL holds 74% equity shareholding, while CIDCO holds the remaining 26% equity shareholding in NMIAL.
In April 2021, Adani Airport Holdings Ltd., took over the management of Navi Mumbai International Airport Ltd.
